In an interview before December 7 th , results show Austin Healey stated he felt he was probably going to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing. Austin was a strong contender throughout the series for 2008. Each time he was on the dance floor, he was able to get the moves down and show the judges and audience he had what it took.
On December 5 th , Austin was interviewed by It Takes Two. On the show, he stated that he already had his things packed and was ready to be voted off the show. During the week, he trained hard for the dance off, but he still felt the American Smooth and Salsa were not where they needed to be in order to win. His confidence was down despite Erin Boag’s reassurance that the training and hard work could pay off.
It was a surprise to hear Austin suggest he would be the one to be voted off for fans. The general consensus was that Lisa and Brendan would be the losing pair during the show. In fact, the bookies, laying odds on the show, had 11 to 8 that Austin would win with Tom Chambers at 7 to 4. Lisa’s odds were 10 to 11 that she would get cut from the show. The interview was definitely foretelling though as we did see Austin lose the votes and Lisa continued on to the semi-finals. There is a lot of tension between the contestants now with Tom being the only man left.
