SCD Week Seven, Part 1 (257w)

Halfway through the competition and the dancers arrive for the seventh week each performing a different dance. Ex-rugby player Austin Healey chose to perform the Quickstep with his partner Erin. Len went as far as to say that Austin was ‘perfection’ and the rest of the judges followed suit awarding Austin a massive thirty six. Heather and Brian had to take the floor after the first performance and chose the Cha Cha. The judges were not to be impressed this time and they were awarded only twenty three points.

Jodie and Ian were up next performing the Waltz hoping to convey some romance. Craig didn’t buy into the romance and criticised Jodie’s dancing, saying it was better when she was led around. For Len it was the footwork which was the problem, however the couple went on to score a satisfactory thirty one. Andrew Castle and Ola were next receiving a score of twenty one for their Samba. Lisa and Brendan decided to dance the Tango and were met with only praise. They scored thirty five for their trouble.

Cherie and James danced the sexy Salsa but Len commented that it wasn’t as sexy as it should have been. Craig pointed out that Cherie lacked fluidity. They scored a total of twenty six points. John and Kristina were to perform next with a Foxtrot. Craig wanted to see more body contact from the pair and Len wanted to see more having not been impressed. Craig scored the pair a low three and the total came to twenty.
