Week five was extremely exciting for several reasons. The regular dances of the pairs occurred, but there was also a dance off for the girls and guys to go head-to-head. It would be a choice to see who would get the better scores and the votes. Rachel and Vincent were the first pair to dance for the judges and did the samba. Overall, the judges found the technical scores to be good, but the performance was a little lacking. Rachel and Vincent only received a score of 30.
Lisa and Brendan were up next with the American smooth. Len stated that the pair was great and Bruno agreed there had been quite an increase in talent. Overall, the four judges felt the pair earned a 35.
Heather and Brian were next to take the floor, but the judges were definitely not happy. They felt the couple could have performed better with the samba, because the salsa they did was fantastic. The disappointment led to a score of 21.
Cherie and James definitely brought the moves to the dance floor with their American smooth. The judges were very impressed with the delivery because they had the technical talent and they were definitely smooth. This earned a score of 34.
Mark and Hayley followed with a samba to the Spice Girl’s “Spice up Your Life.” The judges, especially Craig, were highly disappointed. The timing was off, the moves were awkward, and it was overall lacking, according to Craig, earning a total score of 17.
